What is AIFG Lab?
(AI For Good Lab)
AI For Good Lab (AIFG Lab) is a transformative initiative based at Tsinghua Shenzhen International Graduate School under the iDI department.
We are dedicated to utilizing AI for Diversity, Equality, and Inclusion, with a strong focus on applying AI for positive social impact aligned with various Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Our multifaceted initiatives encompass supporting AI upskilling programs for individuals from non-technical backgrounds, organizing international forums on AI policy, conducting an AI entrepreneur bootcamp with a specific focus on AI-generated content (AIGC), and much more.
Collaborating with the Global Shapers Community (an initiative of the World Economic Forum), we strive to bring positive change to international communities by harnessing the potential of AI and promoting ethical and responsible AI practices.
Our Initiatives
AI For Good Lab (AIFG Lab), an initiative of Tsinghua Shenzhen International Graduate School, is committed to promoting Diversity, Equality, and Inclusion through AI. Our initiatives range from AIx, which aligns AI projects with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to create a positive social impact, to AI Upskilling, which makes AI accessible to individuals from non-technical backgrounds. We organize the International Forum to facilitate global collaborations on AI policy and ethical guidelines, and run the AI Entrepreneur Bootcamp to provide mentorship and resources for AI-based entrepreneurial ventures. In collaboration with the Global Shapers Community, we aim to bring about positive change by harnessing AI's potential and endorsing ethical AI practices.
Pie & AI - Shenzhen: Modeling of Paralinguistic Speech Attributes for Intelligent Speech Interaction
Intelligent speech interaction relies on analyzing and modeling paralinguistic information, such as speaker characteristics, style, emotion, emphasis, and intonation. This information enhances speech expressiveness and user satisfaction, making it a vital area of research in speech and natural language processing. The aim is to create user-centric speech interfaces for seamless and harmonious interactions.
AI & Marine Management (SDG 14)
AI's role in promoting marine management has been significant, leveraging advanced technologies for better decision-making and resource utilization. It enables enhanced data analysis, predictive modeling, and environmental monitoring, leading to more efficient resource management and sustainable practices. By harnessing AI's power, organizations have made notable progress in optimizing marine ecosystems and fostering environmental conservation.
Pie & AI: Shenzhen - Visual Understanding and Natural Language Expression
The research applies deep learning and machine learning to computer vision applications such as video analysis, human posture recognition, and object tracking. Projects include real-time tracking, image modeling, object recognition, video advertising, multimedia display, and scalable video coding. Collaborations involve organizations like Shenzhen science and technology innovation commission, Tencent, Huawei, NTT company, and ST stmicroelectronics.
